Blue Note maand bij Vinyl!
Blue Note is een jazz-label uit New York. Het platenlabel is opgericht in 1939. Inmiddels is het label overgenomen door EMI. Het label heeft al veel jazz-artiesten voortgebracht waaronder Miles Davis, John Coltrane en Herbie Hancock.

Out to Lunch (1964) - Eric Dolphy
Out to Lunch was Eric Dolphy's only recording for Blue Note Records as a leader. Unity (1965) - Larry Young
Unity is an album by jazz organist Larry Young, released on the Blue Note label. While not free jazz, the album features innovative experimentation.
The album is Young's second as band leader, following on from Into Somethin'. Three of the six tracks were composed by Woody Shaw; "Zoltan", "The Moontrane", and "Beyond All Limits". "If" is a Joe Henderson composition, "Monk's Dream" is a Thelonious Monk composition, and "Softly, As in a Morning Sunrise" is Hammerstein & Romberg composition. --http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Unity_(Larry_Young) [May 2006]
