Salsoul is een platenlabel dat gevestigd is in New York en voornamelijk tijdens de disco jaren actief was. Samen met West End en Prelude waren ze de grote en trendsettende labels van New York stad. Van 1974 tot 1985 brachten ze een 300-tal maxi's en ongeveer 100 LPs uit. Geen van deze labels overleefde de overgang naar de House, ondanks de mixen van Shep Pettibone voor het Salsoul label.

Een paar klinkende namen uit hun stal waren Instant Funk, Loleatta Holloway, Carol Williams, Jocelyn Brown, Double Exposure, First Choice, Joe Bataan, en Salsoul Orchestra (geleid door Vincent Montana Jr) en Inner Life.

Salsoul bracht de eerste commerciële remix op de markt, dat was Double Exposure's Ten Percent uit 1976, een vroege remix van de legendarische Walter Gibbons. Andere remixers van het label om naar uit te kijken zijn Tom Moulton, Frankie Knuckles (slechts één deed hij er voor Salsoul), Larry Levan, Patrick Adams en Gregory Carmichael.

Salsoul produceerde en verdeelde tevens Gold Mind Records.
